When we were asked to come to El Paso and be apart of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, we could not have been more excited.  What an incredible opportunity!

I flew down with Paola, our production manager, and worked with the Ruiz family before they were sent off to the Bahamas while Extreme built them a brand new home.  During our time with the deserving Ruiz family, we were able to capture their family in a series of portraits that really shows their spirits.  The design team from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition was so excited about the images that they changed the layout of the main room and the color scheme in order to be able to do an INCREDIBLE display of my artwork.

It was such a wonderful honor to be able to use my skills to create these art pieces for such a deserving and sweet family.  I made tons of new friends and overall had a life changing experience.  It was a blast to see how a TV show such as this is filmed and how the crew and talent of the show have the most giving hearts. They are one big family on the set and it was so much fun to be apart of that even if it were only for one week.  What amazed me the most was that they actually build the house start to finish in 5 days!  Not even the 7 I thought they did it in but only 5!  On my end, producing all the wall prints in this amount of time was a major endeavor and I couldn’t have ever done it without the support of my lab, BWC Photo Imaging.  They are just fantastic!  Unfortunately due to requirements from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, I can’t post any pictures and can not give any more details until the show airs.   So watch for yourself to see it all (all 40 wall prints and that doesn’t include any of the smaller ones!!!) and how awesome this family is.  It airs March 15th, THIS SUNDAY, at 7pm central on ABC.   If you live in Dallas, we will be having a watching party at Lakewood Tavern at 6pm.  Stop by and join us!
